Problem
Depositors couldn't easily verify how their crypto capital is managed. Proof of Reserves products show assets without liabilities, lack data privacy, and offer no usable reporting layer for auditors or regulators.
Solution
Designed a financial portfolio reporting platform with modular proof-of-solvency reports. Validated with 4 customer groups and built on blockchain infrastructure. Shifted product strategy from broad data access to custom, auditor-ready reports based on design partner findings.
My Role
I structured and led research and synthesis, defined and prioritized features based on customer interviews, wireframed and prototyped customer-facing demos, iterated with Engineering to production, and created and managed brand guidelines, marketing materials, and a website.
The Challenge
Depositors could not verify how their capital is managed. Proof of Reserves products are broken: they show assets without liabilities, lack privacy, and offer no usable reporting layer for auditors or regulators.
Interviewed 4 customer groups: depositors/lenders, auditors, brokers, and regulators
Competitive analysis confirmed critical gaps in existing Proof of Reserves products: no liabilities included, limited data privacy, limited reporting tools
Discovery
Surveying the Landscape
Competitive analysis across Proof of Reserves products and a regulation deep dive revealed the core gaps. In the aftermath of the FTX scandal and increasing SEC scrutiny of crypto holdings, we set out to understand the value proposition of existing PoR products and whether a Weavechain-based solution could offer a more comprehensive answer.
Synthesis confirmed the hypothesis: users needed an easy way to sync accounts to a hybrid blockchain solution, enabling a secure, privacy-preserving, signed data supply chain driving a dashboard of verifiable reports (because PoR was limited to reserves only). We could provide strategy allocation breakdowns, amounts held across custodians and exchanges, PNL, and more. All claims would include lineage of hashes, ZK Proofs, and Merkle trees.
Understanding Customer Needs
Interviewed customers who signed on as design partners for Accountable, representing the four parties for whom Accountable adds value:
Depositors/lenders who need verifiable reports on their stewards' portfolios
Auditing firms looking for real-time access to verifiable data
Brokers looking for simpler, more secure reporting solutions
Stewards looking to prove their responsible capital management
Opportunities / Gaps from Proof of Reserves
Proof of Reserves does not include liabilities in its calculations
No guarantee every account is included in the Merkle Tree
Data privacy is non-existent when everything is public on the blockchain
Proof of Reserves products do not provide adequate reporting tools to third parties

What I Built
Account sync: Real-time connection to custodial accounts with automated data refresh.
Modular report builder: Five dynamic report types: reserves, solvency, instruments, market neutrality, and custody.
Secure sharing: Permissioned access flows for auditors and regulators.
Design-to-dev system: Structured specs cutting engineering touchpoints to 30 minutes per week.

Selected Shipped Flows
We worked with customer design partners to create and refine tools that optimized workflows by facilitating easy-to-share, secure report templates based on position data.
Flow 1: Stewards Manually Upload Position Data
Enable .csv upload option when adding positions, trades, and instrument whitelists. Saves time without manual entry since users already have .csv files available.

Flow 2: Depositor Creates Instrument Whitelist
Provide templates of instruments for whitelists from reputable sources. Templates give users a starting point so they do not need to build from zero.

Flow 3: Stewards Create and Share Instrument/Custody Report
Provide attachment options that auto-organize with positions and reports. Submitting screenshots in an unorganized manner was a significant pain point. Even though Accountable provides verifiable data from APIs, manual screenshots will remain part of the process.

Flow 4: Depositor Generates Aggregate Report and Reviews
Display high-level and detailed information on all stewards in Aggregate Reports. Original aggregate report pages showed solely high-level data. After customer conversations, tables of detail below aggregate summaries made these reports far more effective tools for understanding portfolio health and risk at a glance.

Impact
Adoption and validation
3 core user needs validated through customer interviews directly shaped the product roadmap
Shifted strategy from broad data access to custom, auditor-ready reports, validated by design partners
50% of users saved reports before sharing them, reducing accidental disclosures
90% reduction in clickbacks to add data while creating reports
40% fewer privacy-related questions in testing
Users called new trust cues "reassuring" and "finally clear"
Durability
Guidance copy retained and expanded after acquisition
Product acquired by Maven11; most recent $7.5M funding round in Oct 2025
Now supports 1B+ verified assets across 75+ data sources
Connects to 100+ blockchains
Process
Design-to-dev system cut engineering touchpoints to 30 minutes per week
Used AI tools to rapidly learn complex financial domain concepts, accelerating ramp into the industry
Beyond Launch
The trust-focused design work has continued to prove its value. Now part of Maven11, Accountable raised $7.5M in October 2025 to expand the mission of helping users verify financial data across custodians, exchanges, and banks without compromising privacy.
The product currently supports 1B+ verified assets across 75+ data sources and connects to 100+ blockchains. The guidance copy and trust patterns I designed were retained and expanded through the acquisition, showcasing that our work outlasted the original product team.
